Design Technical Director

Responsible for a high level of project quality, full client satisfaction and deliverables that are based on sound architectural judgments. Establishes and maintains quality assurance for accuracy, thoroughness, appearance, efficiency and constructability of projects while minimizing liability and cost. Provides technical supervision to ensure that man‐hour and schedule targets are met and provides coordination so projects are performed in a logical sequence to minimize rework and offset scheduling conflicts. 

Qualifications

QUALITY

• Personally review and coordinate all work at critical times during each phase including specifications, CAD/REVIT/BIM models, project documents and design intent.

• Approve construction documents for release to bidders, submittal for permitting and as submitted to owners and clients for review and approval.

• Review appropriateness of fees for various project types and review of proposal template, terms and conditions including indemnification needs and work scope clarity.

TECHNICAL

• Responsible for determining drawing approach, layout, number of drawings and details in concert with office staff.

• Accept responsibility for the thoroughness, completeness, and integrity of project deliverables with the exception of signing and sealing of permit and construction documents

• Analyze building-zoning code for active & potential projects, review permit comments and provide CA support including shop drawing review.

SKILLS

• Proficiency in Revit required

• Experience with RHINO and 3dMax preferred

• Experience with ADOBE Suite – including Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign

• Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements

• 15+ years of project experience in an architectural practice


Project Manager

Responsible for the overall management and successful completion of assigned projects with a focus on providing the utmost satisfaction to the client. Ensures projects are functional, aesthetically pleasing, code compliant, completed on time and within budget. Manages internal resources and outside sub‐consultants ensuring that expectations are communicated and met. The Project Manager has authority to speak for the firm in dealing with clients and is responsible for a portion of the profit center assigned to him/her.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Works with sub‐consultants and internal staff, reviews Resource and Milestone requirements, participates with Managing Director and Principal in preparing fee proposals and negotiations, prepares contractual agreements and is sufficiently familiar with all agreements between firm and client to effectively manage the project in a professional economic manner.

  • Ascertains that code checks, zoning status, and all other applicable laws and regulations are acceptable and coordinates with proper regulatory officials.

  • Obtains approvals and decisions from client in a timely manner that allows the project to flow smoothly and quickly through the office and alerts Managing Director to any changes of scope, lack of information, or decisions from client that affect schedule or project budget. Negotiates or assists in negotiations with client to account for such changes.

  • Maintain contact with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm performance, and identify other business opportunities either with them or through referrals and to solicit new clients/project. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Proficiency in Revit required

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements required

  • 5+ years of project experience in an architectural practice

  • Experience with RHINO, ADOBE Suite – including Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign and 3dMax preferred


Project Coordinator

SUMMARY

Actively participates in design, drawing production and site visits under the direction of the Project Manager or Project Lead. This role integrates project information and prepares coordinated documents with input from the PM and can act as Project Leader for small or routine projects.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Manage, review and contribute to the production of design, modeling, permit and construction documents including revisions

  • Coordinate details, dimensions, drawings presentations and specifications that are consistent with the direction provided by the Project Lead

  • Communicate with Clients and Contractors and attend meetings and Field Survey assignments as assigned by the Project Lead

  • Work closely with project team members to obtain project information and see that drawings are accurate and complete.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Proficiency in Revit required

  • Experience with RHINO and 3dMax preferred

  • Experience with ADOBE Suite – including Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements preferred

  • 2 – 5 years of project experience in an architectural practice
